1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Insurance Code by changing
2 Section 155.20.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
6 changing Section 155.20 as follows:
7 (215 ILCS 5/155.20) (from Ch. 73, par. 767.20)
8 Sec. 155.20. Medical malpractice; arbitration. All
9 final arbitration decisions rendered in relation to disputes
10 or controversies arising out of injuries allegedly caused by
11 reason of hospital or health care provider malpractice shall
12 be recognized by any insurance company doing business in the
13 State of Illinois and all findings of facts relating to
14 liability and awards of damages in relation thereto which are
15 a part of the final arbitration decision shall be binding on
16 such insurance companies.
