1 AN ACT to amend the Board of Higher Education Act by
2 adding Section 9.29.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended
6 by adding Section 9.29 as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 205/9.29 new)
8 Sec. 9.29. Residency requirement policy. For tuition
9 purposes, the Board shall establish a uniform residency
10 requirement policy for all public institutions of higher
11 education, except public community colleges. This policy
12 shall provide that if another state's residency requirement
13 is stricter than Illinois' residency requirement, then a
14 student from that state must meet the same residency
15 requirement for Illinois that that state imposes on
16 out-of-state students.
