1 AN ACT concerning executive branch appointees.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Executive Branch Appointees Act.
6 Section 5. Executive branch appointee. For the purposes
7 of this Act, "executive branch appointee" means an individual
8 appointed to an official position by the Governor, Lieutenant
9 Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller,
10 or Treasurer.
11 Section 10. Holding office. Except as otherwise
12 provided by law, if the term of an executive branch appointee
13 expires before a successor is appointed and qualifies, then
14 the current appointee, if otherwise qualified, holds the
15 office until a successor is appointed and qualifies.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
