1 AN ACT to amend the Veterans' Employment Act by changing
2 Section 2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Veterans' Employment Act is amended by
6 changing Section 2 as follows:
7 (330 ILCS 25/2) (from Ch. 126 1/2, par. 202)
8 Sec. 2. Legislative purpose. The General Assembly
9 hereby declares that it is the purpose of this Act to
10 increase the receptivity of employers in each community to
11 hiring veterans, through contacts with veterans occupying key
12 positions in business and industry; to persuade local
13 institutions to make more resources available to the solution
14 of veterans' problems; to encourage and help Vietnam veterans
15 to make full use of and to support all volunteer activities
16 available to them, especially veterans service organizations;
17 and to encourage and help Vietnam veterans to make full use
18 of all federal, State and community activities and benefits
19 available to them.
