 1        AN ACT to amend the  Attorney  General  Act  by  changing
 2    Section 1.

 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.  The  Attorney  General  Act  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 1 as follows:

 7        (15 ILCS 205/1) (from Ch. 14, par. 1)
 8        Sec. 1.  Oath; bond.  Before entering upon the respective
 9    duties of his or her office, the attorney  general  shall  be
10    commissioned  by  the  governor, and shall take the following
11    oath or affirmation:
12        I do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be), that
13    I will support the constitution of the United States and  the
14    constitution  of  the  state  of  Illinois,  and  that I will
15    faithfully discharge the duties of  the  office  of  attorney
16    general, according to the best of my ability.
17        And shall also execute a bond, to the People of the State
18    of Illinois, with good and sufficient securities in the penal
19    sum  of  $10,000,  to  be  approved by the governor, and then
20    filed in the office of the Secretary of State. The bond shall
21    be conditioned upon the faithful discharge of the  duties  of
22    the  office,  and  the  paying over all moneys as provided by
23    law, which bond shall run to and be for the  benefit  of  the
24    state,  county,  corporation or person injured by a breach of
25    any of the conditions thereof.
