1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 720
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 720 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Illinois Vehicle Code by adding
5 Section 11-601.5."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
9 adding Section 11-601.5 as follows:
10 (625 ILCS 5/11-601.5 new)
11 Sec. 11-601.5. Driving 40 miles per hour or more in
12 excess of applicable limit. A person who drives a vehicle
13 upon any highway of this State at a speed that is 40 miles
14 per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed
15 limit established under this Chapter or a local ordinance
16 commits a Class A misdemeanor.".
