1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by adding
2 Section 12-2.7
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 adding Section 12-2.7as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/12-2.7 new)
8 Sec. 12-2.7. Endangering school bus transportation.
9 (a) A person commits the offense of endangering school
10 bus transportation if the person does one or more of the
11 following:
12 (1) Tampers with a school bus or school bus
13 facility with intent to cause any damage, malfunction, or
14 nonfunction.
15 (2) On a school bus, knowingly threatens any driver
16 or passenger:
17 (A) with death or imminent bodily injury; or
18 (B) with a deadly weapon or with words or
19 actions intended to induce belief that the person is
20 armed with a deadly weapon.
21 (b) Endangering a school bus transportation is a Class A
22 misdemeanor.
