Senate Sponsors: RAUSCHENBERGER. Short description: SCH CD-ELECTIONS-TERMS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the School Code. Specifies that when members of a board of school directors or board of education are elected at the consolidated elections held in April, 1999 and April, 2001, the board is to organize, elect its officers, and enter upon the discharge of its duties at an organizational meeting held within 7 days after the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in each of those 2 years. Provides for adjustment of the ballot form used at those elections to reflect a full term of less than 4 years. Authorizes the expenditure of school district funds to provide training through school board associations to persons elected to school board membership at the 1999 and 2001 consolidated elections after they are elected and before their terms commence. Makes other related changes. Effective immediately.
