Short description: 
DHS-EMPL PRGRM-LANG PROFCIENCY                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code.  In provisions regarding the      
   Department  of  Human  Services   training  and  employment   program,      
   provides  that  the  individualized  assessment  of  the participant's      
   employability shall include  an  assessment  of  his  or  her  English      
   language  proficiency,  removing the condition that this assessment be      
   done only for those who display  a  potential  need  for  literacy  or      
   language services.                                                          
          STATE MANDATES FISCAL NOTE                                           
          HB 3625 fails to create a State mandate.                             
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2.                                                 
        Provides that  the  individualized  assessment  shall  include  a      
   standardized  literacy  test  such as the most recent form of the Test      
   for Adult Basic Education (T.A.B.E.).
