CD CORR-DOC CONTRACTS                                                      

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Unified Code of Corrections.  Permits  the  Department      
   of   Corrections  to  charge  fees  to  persons  released  on  parole,      
   probation,  or  mandatory  supervised  release   for   the   cost   of      
   administering  the  supervision  of  those  persons  and to enter into      
   contracts  with  public  or  private  vendors  to  provide   telephone      
   reporting   and   collection   of  those  fees  and  the  computerized      
   maintenance of files on those  parolees,  releasees,  and  persons  on      
   probation.  Effective immediately.                                          
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          30 ILCS 105/6z-13               from Ch. 127, par. 142z-13           
        Amends the State Finance Act.  Provides that the gross  or  total      
   proceeds  and  moneys  recovered  by  the Department of Corrections as      
   reimbursement for the expenses incurred  by  the  Department  for  the      
   parole  and mandatory supervised release of convicted persons shall be      
   deposited into a State trust fund to be held by  the  State  Treasurer      
   and  spent  at  the direction of the Director of Corrections.  Deletes      
   provisions permitting the Department of Corrections to charge the fees      
   specified in the bill to persons on probation.
