 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
 3    of the death of Mrs. Alyce Joy Polk Livingston of Decatur  on
 4    Sunday, June 14, 1998; and
 5        WHEREAS,  She  was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on July 19,
 6    1934, the daughter of Charles  and  Mabel  Machen  Polk;  she
 7    attended  Lincoln  High  School  and West Kentucky Vocational
 8    School; she  also  attended  Millikin  University  where  she
 9    majored in science; and
10        WHEREAS,  She  retired  as  a  lab  technician from A. E.
11    Staley Manufacturing  Company  after  29  years  of  service;
12    besides  working  full time and serving on numerous clubs and
13    committees, she was founder and director  of  the  Tiny  Tots
14    Nursery School; and
15        WHEREAS,  Her  passing  will be deeply felt by her family
16    and friends, especially her husband, David; her  sons,  David
17    C.  and  Malcolm  J.;  her  brother, Charles E. Polk; and her
18    sisters, Faye  Polk  Clemons,  Virginia  Dunlap,  Janie  Polk
19    Tinsley, and Patricia Polk Long; therefore, be it
20        RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
21    OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
22    the death of Alyce Joy Polk Livingston and extend our sincere
23    condolences to her family and friends; and be it further
24        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
25    presented to her husband, David M. Livingston.
