 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
 3    of the recent death of Francis J. Maher, retired Cook  County
 4    Circuit Court Judge, at the age of 83; and
 5        WHEREAS,  He  was  a  graduate of Mt. Carmel High School,
 6    Loyola University, and John Marshall Law School; he practiced
 7    law for 32 years and served as an associate judge  from  1975
 8    until 1984; and
 9        WHEREAS,   After   retiring,  Judge  Maher  served  as  a
10    volunteer, reading books aloud onto tapes for the blind; and
11        WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his  wife,  Cecilia,
12    and his daughter, Charleen Maher; and
13        WHEREAS,  His  passing  will be deeply felt by his family
14    and friends, especially his daughters, Judith Hynes, Kathleen
15    Moriarty, and Donna Dwyer; his sons, Frank J. Jr.  and  David
16    P.;   his   brother,   George;  his  sister,  Rita  Buck;  22
17    grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
18        RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
19    OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
20    the death of Judge Francis J. Maher and  extend  our  sincere
21    condolences to his family and friends; and be it further
22        RESOLVED,  That  suitable  copies  of  this resolution be
23    presented to the family of Judge Francis J. Maher.
