1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Dorothy Redding of Decatur,
4 Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Dorothy Redding was a well-known and respected
6 part of the community; Dorothy taught kindergarten for more
7 than twenty years in the Decatur area; she was affiliated
8 with the Audubon Society, Democratic Women, the International
9 Club, YWCA, Project READ, the Macon County Historical
10 Society, Congregational Church, and the Salvation Army; and
11 WHEREAS, Dorothy Redding was a frequent contributor to
12 the Decatur newspaper, the Herald and Review; she is survived
13 by her brother, two sons, one daughter, and many
14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
16 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her
17 family, friends, and the citizens of Decatur, Illinois, the
18 death of Dorothy Redding; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of Dorothy Redding.
