Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that no person shall
be hired as a caseworker for the Department of Human Services
unless that person has a bachelor's degree from an accredited
institution of higher education. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Personnel Code by adding Section 8g.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by adding
5 Section 8g as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 415/8g new)
7 Sec. 8g. Caseworker; Department of Human Services.
8 After the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1998, no
9 person shall be hired as a caseworker for the Department of
10 Human Services unless that person has a bachelor's degree
11 from an accredited institution of higher education.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13 becoming law.
