1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1610
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1610 on page 5,
3 line 15, by inserting after "Association." the following:
4 "Performance-based tests, where students have to construct
5 their own responses to questions or prompts, rather than to
6 select from alternatives that are presented, shall not be
7 used in statewide assessments, other than in the writing test
8 per the 1998 IGAP tests, unless they meet the standards of
9 reliability and validity as stated in this subsection (a-5),
10 and present a statistically proven advantage not met through
11 forced-choice questions and answers, as determined through
12 pilot projects."; and
13 on page 5, by replacing lines 18 though 21 with the
14 following:
15 "self-esteem, or self-concept."
