Amends the Judges Article of the Pension Code. Provides
that a judge who attains age 60 at any time during a month
shall be deemed to have attained age 60 on the first day of
that month. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Pension Code by adding
2 Section 18-123.3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
6 adding Section 18-123.3 as follows:
7 (40 ILCS 5/18-123.3 new)
8 Sec. 18-123.3. Calculation of age 60. Beginning on the
9 effective date of this amendatory Act of 1998, a judge who
10 attains age 60 at any time during a month shall be deemed for
11 the purposes of this Article to have attained age 60 on the
12 first day of that month.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
