Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Makes
grammatical changes in Section relating to fines for felony
theft and deceptive practices violations.

1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by
2 changing Section 5-9-1.3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
6 changing Section 5-9-1.3 as follows:
7 (730 ILCS 5/5-9-1.3) (from Ch. 38, par. 1005-9-1.3)
8 Sec. 5-9-1.3. When a person has been adjudged guilty of
9 a felony under Section 16-1, 16-9, or 17-1 of the Criminal
10 Code of 1961, a fine may be levied by the court in an amount
11 that which is the greater of $10,000 or twice the value of
12 the property which is the subject of the offense.
