1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the New Lenox Mustangs
4 Heavyweight Football Team on winning the Smoky Mountain
5 National Football Tournament; and
6 WHEREAS, The tournament was held in Gatlinburg,
7 Tennessee, from November 26 to the 28th, 1998; and
8 WHEREAS, Head Coach of the Mustangs is Ron Schaper; in
9 his 34 years of coaching youth football he has had a total of
10 333 victories and three previous championships in Gatlinburg;
11 this year's team record was 19 wins and one loss; and
12 WHEREAS, The Mustangs had to compete against teams from
13 Louisiana and Pennsylvania to win the National Championships;
14 the team is made up of seventh and eighth graders up to 150
15 pounds, who, together with their families, traveled to
16 Gatlinburg to compete against the other teams; and
17 WHEREAS, The Mustang players are: Spike Anderson, Eric
18 Arthur, Luke Athans, Lance Barilow, Andrew Bendoraitis, Jon
19 Brinley, Jon Brown, Robert Burke, Mike Cagle, Brad Ceci, Kyle
20 Cornwell, Shawn Corrigan, Ross Crampton, Kevin Dahlman, Jeff
21 Deaton, Jason DePolo, Dustin Domzalski, Mike Farrell, Bobby
22 Ferguson, Dan Finney, Jon Fleck, Bryan Flynn, Jason Frieri,
23 John Gavoni, Chad Hausherr, Evan Heidrich, Mark Jeffery, Dan
24 Johnson, David Johnson, Danny Judge, Erik Karlsson, Jared
25 Kazich, Justin Kazich, Jeff Kramer, Dan Kurber, Ross Larson,
26 Jacob Lowell, Mike Manns, Paul Meyer, Luke Olszta, Doug
27 Paver, Todd Peterson, Ben Pierson, Dustin Powell, Christopher

1 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
2 congratulate the Mustangs of New Lenox, along with their
3 coach, the coaching team, and the parents, on their
4 successful National Championship run; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the New Lenox Mustangs, with the sincere
7 congratulations of State Representative Renee Kosel and State
8 Senator William Mahar.
