1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Don Yedtman of Atwood will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary
8 of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Don and Dorothy Yedtman were united in holy
10 matrimony on September 5, 1948 at the Presbyterian Church in
11 Olney; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Susan Spencer
13 and Kari Lorenzen and the proud grandparents of four
14 grandchildren; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as Don and Dorothy
17 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, Don and Dorothy stand as examples of the best of
19 our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
20 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
21 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
22 world; therefore be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 congratulate Don and Dorothy Yedtman on the occasion of their
26 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
27 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
28 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
29 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
30 further
