 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, Dick and  Myrna  Baier  have  enjoyed  years  of
 3    living  in  Cissna  Park, volunteering and working in various
 4    positions; and
 5        WHEREAS, Dick Baier spent 16 years as past village  mayor
 6    in  Cissna  Park,  four decades as a Cissna Park Firefighter,
 7    and four terms as a leader in the  State  organization  which
 8    stewards  the  preservation  and improvement of Illinois fire
 9    districts; and is past president of the American Legion, past
10    president of the Chamber of Commerce, and a 21  year  veteran
11    of the Iroquois County Sheriff's Police Merit
12        WHEREAS,  The family bought a publishing enterprise which
13    produces the Cissna Park News  and  the  Rankin  Independent;
14    their  son,  Rick,  current  mayor of Cissna Park, bought the
15    establishment from his father; and
16        WHEREAS, Dick and Myrna Baier are the loving  parents  of
17    Rick,  David,  Bruce,  and  Barbara;  David and Rick are both
18    village  firefighters;  David  also  operates  an   appliance
19    business,  Barbara  is  involved  in  the family's publishing
20    business, and Bruce is a GTE technician; and
21        WHEREAS, Dick and Myrna Baier  are  also  active  in  the
22    theatre   and   enjoy  participating  in  various  positions;
23    therefore, be it
24        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
25    NINETIETH  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26    wish  to  congratulate  Dick  Baier  for  retiring  from  the
27    presidency of the Illinois Association of Fire Districts  and
28    to  applaud  he and his wife, Myrna, for all the volunteering
29    they have done; and be it further
30        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
31    presented to them as as expression of our esteem.
