1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Mr. and Mrs. William L.
4 Kimme, Sr., on their fiftieth wedding anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, Bill and Lucille Kimme met while working at
6 Obernester's Glass Factory in East St. Louis, Illinois; six
7 weeks later they were married, on June 16, 1948, at the Old
8 State Capitol building in Vandalia; Bertha Lentz, mother of
9 the bride, and Ann Compagni, sister of the bride, were the
10 attendants; and
11 WHEREAS, William and Lucille have four children: William
12 L. Kimme Jr., and his wife, Julie; Shawn K. McIntosh and her
13 husband, Craig; Deborah A. Nichols and her husband, Terry;
14 and Norman E. Kimme and his wife, Gina; and
15 WHEREAS, William and Lucille reconfirmed their wedding
16 vows at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Illinois on
17 January 25, 1959; and
18 WHEREAS, William and Lucille Kimme have ten
19 grandchildren: Richard A. Kimme, Jennifer M. Whidden, David
20 E. Boucher, Daniel E. Boucher, Scott A. Nichols, Greg R.
21 Nichols, Brandi J. Kimme, Kimberly K. Bingham, Michael E.
22 Nichols, and Seth G. McIntosh; they also have two
23 great-grandchildren: Taylor N. Whidden, and Jessica N.
24 Boucher; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 congratulate William and Lucille Kimme on their fiftieth
28 wedding anniversary; they are truly blessed by a large family
29 and their love for each other; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to William and Lucille Kimme.
