 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are  pleased to honor a couple's milestones;
 4    and
 5        WHEREAS, The sacrament of  marriage  is  a  trusted  bond
 6    between  two  people;  when a marriage has reached the golden
 7    anniversary it is a time to celebrate this bond; and
 8        WHEREAS,  Marvin  Foster,  Sr.  was  born   in   Chicago,
 9    Illinois;  Ionia  Thigpen was born in New Orleans, Louisiana;
10    Marvin and Ionia later  moved  to  Robbins,  Illinois;  after
11    meeting, the couple dated for about a year and were united in
12    Holy  Matrimony  in  Crowne Point, Indiana on April 19, 1948;
13    and
14        WHEREAS, Marvin and Ionia  resided  in  Robbins  for  ten
15    years  and  then  moved  on to their current home in Pembroke
16    Township; they are faithful members of the Pembroke Community
17    Reformed Church, where Mr. Foster is an usher and Mrs. Foster
18    is a member of the Choir; and
19        WHEREAS, They are the parents of Delores, Hazel, William,
20    Marvin Jr., and Donna; they have  fifteen  grandchildren  and
21    twenty-five   great  grandchildren;  they  will  renew  their
22    wedding vows on April 18, 1998 at a service presided over  by
23    Reverend  Hezekia Brady, Jr.; a reception will be held at the
24    Pembroke Township Senior Center; therefore, be it
25        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
26    NINETIETH  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27    congratulate and honor Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Foster, Sr. on the
28    celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary; and be  it
29    further
30        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
31    presented to Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Foster, Sr.
