1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 the excellence of young athletes and wish to congratulate the
4 Loyola High School Ramblers on winning the Class AA I.H.S.A.
5 Basketball Tournament; and
6 WHEREAS, In the process, Loyola set a record for
7 victories in a season by a girls basketball team and was the
8 first Class AA team to three-peat; and
9 WHEREAS, Led and inspired by Coach Tanya Johnson with
10 Assistant Coaches Mary Just, Kathy Leyden, and Kerry Durham,
11 the Loyola Ramblers ended their season with a 36-1 record;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, The team members are: Lisa Bruno, Elizabeth
14 Fletcher, Kelly Chiczewski, Olga Gvozdenovic, Amy Heller,
15 Meghan Jones, Elizabeth LaFranco, Katie Murphy, Nell Murphy,
16 Jeanette Paukert, Laura Sobieszczyk, Christine Switski, and
17 Kristen Toren; and
18 WHEREAS, The coaches, faculty, students, and parents of
19 Loyola High School share in this victory in that they have
20 provided the instruction, inspiration, and support which
21 contributed to this fine finish of a memorable season which
22 sustains a long-standing tradition of athletic excellence;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 heartily congratulate the Loyola Ramblers on their wonderful
27 season and on winning the Class AA State Basketball
28 Tournament; that we commend the players and their coaches on
29 good sportsmanship, hard work, and dedication; and that we
30 wish all the students at Loyola High School success in the
31 future; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
2 presented to Coach Tanya Johnson, to each member of the team,
3 and to each assistant coach.
