1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House are honored and
3 pleased to recognize significant achievements and important
4 occasions in the lives of young athletes of this great State;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Whitney Young
7 High School's basketball team took first place in the Class
8 AA Illinois High School Basketball Championship; and
9 WHEREAS, The win was accomplished with the Dolphins 61-56
10 win over Galesburg at Peoria's Civic Center; and
11 WHEREAS, Coach George Stanton has provided the
12 instruction, support, and inspiration which contributed to
13 the spirit and dedication put forth by this team; and
14 WHEREAS, The outstanding leadership, sacrifice, team
15 spirit, and sportsmanship of the Dolphins sustains a long
16 tradition of athletic excellence at Whitney Young High
17 School; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20 heartily congratulate the Whitney Young High School Dolphins
21 on being Class AA I.H.S.A. Champions; that we commend the
22 coach on his inspired leadership; and that we extend our best
23 wishes to them for continued success in the future; and be it
24 further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Coach George Stanton.
