1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives is proud
3 to congratulate organizations on the achievement of a
4 milestone; and
5 WHEREAS, Heart of Illinois United Way is celebrating its
6 seventy-fifth anniversary; and
7 WHEREAS, Heart of Illinois United Way has contributed
8 $137,000,000 to human service agencies in Peoria and Central
9 Illinois since its inception; the Heart of Illinois United
10 Way contributes to forty human service agencies providing
11 seventy-five programs; when the program began in 1922, eight
12 current agencies were among the original agencies; and
13 WHEREAS, The United Way shows us a model for caring;
14 through its concerned effort to help others, it provides an
15 example of compassion that we can take into consideration
16 when we reach out to those that they assist; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate Heart of Illinois United Way on its
20 seventy-fifth anniversary; that we thank Heart of Illinois
21 United Way for their example of giving to the people of
22 Peoria and Central Illinois; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to Heart of Illinois United Way.
