 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the  members  of
 3    this  Body that the Calumet Memorial Park District in Calumet
 4    City, Illinois, is celebrating its seventy-fifth  anniversary
 5    this year; and
 6        WHEREAS,  The Calumet Memorial Park District was formally
 7    founded in 1922, and George Hannauer, Peter Liesenfelt,  Otto
 8    Heigl,  John Murray, and John Totzke, Jr. served as the first
 9    commissioners; and
10        WHEREAS, The  District  serves  an  area  which  includes
11    Calumet City, the Village of Burnham, a sub-division of South
12    Holland, and a section of Dolton; and
13        WHEREAS,   The  District's  outstanding  park  sites  and
14    recreational facilities stand as a lasting  monument  to  all
15    those  individuals  who have worked to preserve this land for
16    future generations; and
17        WHEREAS,  Over  the  years  the  District  has  had  many
18    improvements and additions and faces the new  millenium  with
19    plans for a prosperous future; therefore, be it
20        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
21    NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that  we
22    congratulate  the  Calumet  Memorial  Park  District  on  its
23    seventy-fifth  anniversary,  and extend to it our best wishes
24    for continued success in the future; and be it further
25        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
26    presented   to  Joseph  Wilhelm,  President  of  the  Calumet
27    Memorial Park District.
