Appropriates $30,000,000 to the State Board of Education
to implement, administer, and award grants under a student
promotion policy grant program. Effective July 1, 1998.

1 AN ACT making an appropriation to the State Board of
2 Education.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The sum of $30,000,000, or so much of that
6 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State
7 Board of Education to implement and administer a student
8 promotion policy grant program and to award grants to school
9 districts that establish and implement a student promotion
10 policy meeting the criteria established for that grant
11 program.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
13 1, 1998.
