      730 ILCS 5/3-6-5          from Ch. 38, par. 1003-6-5
          Amends  the  Unified  Code  of  Corrections.    Makes   a
      stylistic  change  in Section relating to crimes committed by
      persons confined by the Department of Corrections.

 1        AN ACT to  amend  the  Unified  Code  of  Corrections  by
 2    changing Section 3-6-5.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
 6    changing Section 3-6-5 as follows:
 7        (730 ILCS 5/3-6-5) (from Ch. 38, par. 1003-6-5)
 8        Sec. 3-6-5. Crimes Committed by Persons Confined  by  the
 9    Department.
10        When  any  person  is  charged with committing an offense
11    while confined by the Department, cognizance thereof shall be
12    taken by the circuit court of the county wherein  such  crime
13    was  committed.  The Such court shall adjudicate and sentence
14    the person charged with such crime in  the  same  manner  and
15    subject  to  the  same  rules  and  limitations  as  are  now
16    established  by law in relation to other persons charged with
17    crime. The expense  of  prosecution  shall  be  paid  by  the
18    Department.
