1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
2 Section 33-2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 changing Section 33-2 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/33-2) (from Ch. 38, par. 33-2)
8 Sec. 33-2. Failure to report a bribe. Any public
9 officer, public employee or juror who fails to report
10 forthwith to the local State's Attorney, or in the case of a
11 State employee to the Department of State Police, any offer
12 made to him or her in violation of Section 33-1 commits a
13 Class A misdemeanor.
14 In the case of a State employee, the making of such
15 report to the Department of State Police shall discharge such
16 employee from any further duty under this Section. Upon
17 receiving any such report, the Department of State Police
18 shall forthwith transmit a copy thereof to the appropriate
19 State's Attorney.
