          Makes appropriations or reappropriations or both  to  the
      Human Rights Commission for fiscal year 1998.  Effective July
      1, 1997.

 1        AN ACT making appropriations.
 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:
 4        Section 1.  The  following  named  amounts,  or  so  much
 5    thereof  as  may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
 6    to the Human Rights Commission for the objects  and  purposes
 7    hereinafter enumerated:
 8                           GENERAL OFFICE
 9    Payable from General Revenue Fund:
10      For Personal Services ........................ $    827,600
11      For Employee Retirement Contributions
12       Paid by Employer ............................       33,200
13      For State Contributions to State
14       Employees' Retirement System ................       42,300
15      For State Contributions to
16       Social Security .............................       62,700
17      For Contractual Services .....................      159,800
18      For Travel ...................................       26,300
19      For Commodities ..............................       15,000
20      For Printing .................................        5,100
21      For Equipment.................................        9,600
22      For Telecommunications Services ..............       15,000
23        Total                                          $1,196,600
24        Section 2.  The amount of $791,500, or so much thereof as
25    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue
26    Fund to the Human Rights Commission for expenses relating  to
27    the processing of human rights cases.
28        Section  999.   Effective date.  This Act takes effect on
29    July 1, 1997.
