Department of the Lottery for fiscal year 1998. Effective

1 AN ACT making appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. The following named amounts, or so much
5 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects
6 and purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated from the
7 State Lottery Fund to meet the ordinary and contingent
8 expenses of the Department of the Lottery, including
9 operating expenses related to Multi-State Lottery games
10 pursuant to the Illinois Lottery Law:

12 Section 2. The sum of $300,000,000, or so much thereof
13 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the State Lottery
14 Fund to the Department of the Lottery, for payment of prizes
15 to holders of winning lottery tickets or shares, including
16 prizes related to Multi-State Lottery games, pursuant to the
17 provisions of the "Illinois Lottery Law".
18 Section 3. The sum of $20,000, or so much thereof as may
19 be necessary, is appropriated from the State Lottery Fund to
20 the Illinois Department of the Lottery, for payment to the
21 Illinois State Police for investigatory services.
22 Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
23 July 1, 1997.
