Amends the Counties Code. Provides that death
certificates shall be issued no more than 30 days after the
later of either the date of death or the date the body comes
under the jurisdiction of the coroner.

1 AN ACT to amend the Counties Code by changing Section
2 3-3018.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing
6 Section 3-3018 as follows:

8 Sec. 3-3018. Death certificates. Every coroner, as soon
9 as he shall have completed his investigation of the cause and
10 circumstances of any death coming within his jurisdiction
11 hereunder, shall issue a death certificate on the form
12 prescribed by law. All death certificates shall be issued no
13 more than 30 days after the date of death or the date the
14 body comes under the jurisdiction of the coroner, whichever
15 comes later.
