1 AN ACT to amend the Airport Authorities Act by changing
2 Section 14.2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Airport Authorities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 14.2 as follows:
7 (70 ILCS 5/14.2) (from Ch. 15 1/2, par. 68.14b)
8 Sec. 14.2. General plans and cost estimate to be
9 approved. Before the adoption of any ordinance providing for
10 the issuance of such bonds, the board of commissioners of the
11 authority shall cause a description and general plan for the
12 project to be prepared and submitted to the Department of
13 Transportation, together with an estimate of the cost of the
14 project. The project and the plans and estimate of cost may
15 be changed with the approval of the Department. Prior to
16 undertaking the project, the final plans, specifications and
17 estimate of cost must be approved by the Department. The
18 requirements of this Section do not apply to airport projects
19 consisting solely of commercial or recreational facilities.
