1 AN ACT making an appropriation to the State Board of
2 Education.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The sum of $50,000, or so much thereof as may
6 be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund
7 to the Board of Higher Education to develop model legislation
8 to create a state-operated, pre-paid tuition program that
9 guarantees payment of tuition for beneficiaries in amounts
10 projected in contracts with purchasers and that protects the
11 State from liability for any deficits sustained by the
12 program.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
14 1, 1997.
