Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

225 ILCS 459/43

    (225 ILCS 459/43)
Sec. 43. Application denial. If an application is denied, the applicant may, within 20 days after the date of the notice of denial, make a written request to the Secretary for a hearing on the application, and the Secretary shall set a time and place for the hearing. The hearing shall be set for a date after the receipt by the Secretary of the request for hearing, and notice of the time and place of the hearing shall be communicated to the applicant at least 10 days before the date of the hearing. The applicant shall pay the actual cost of making the transcript of the hearing before the Secretary issues his or her decision following the hearing. If, following the hearing, the application is denied, the Secretary shall prepare and keep on file in his or her office a written order of denial thereof that shall contain his or her findings and the reasons supporting the denial and shall communicate a copy to the applicant in a manner prescribed by the Department. A decision may be reviewed as provided in Section 135.
