Fire suppression grant program.
The board of trustees of any fire protection district may, by ordinance, establish a program to award grants to the owners of single family residential properties located within the fire protection district who install and maintain approved sprinkler or other fire suppression systems that meet national standards and are certified by the fire protection district. Any such grant award may be conditioned on the sprinkler or fire suppression system being maintained in good operating condition for a specified term and being subject to inspection to verify the condition of the system on an annual basis.
