(60 ILCS 1/40-15)

Sec. 40-15.

Voting.

(a) All questions upon motions made at township meetings shall be determined
by a majority of the electors present and voting, and the moderator shall
ascertain and declare the result of the vote upon each question.

(b) When the result of any vote shall, upon the moderator's declaration, be
questioned by one or more of the electors present, the moderator shall make the
vote certain by causing the voters to rise and be counted or by a division of
the voters.
