 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  are saddened at the tragic deaths of 21 people in a
 4    stampede at a Chicago nightclub on Monday, February 17, 2003;
 5    and

 6        WHEREAS, Charles Lard was a resident of  Senate  District
 7    39 and was a victim of this tragedy; and

 8        WHEREAS,  Charles  Lard was from Chicago and was 43 years
 9    old; he was the owner of a beauty and barbershop, and a proud
10    father of three, including a toddler son; and

11        WHEREAS, The life of Charles Lard, and the twenty others,
12    who died in this tragic event will forever be  remembered  by
13    their families, friends, and loved ones; therefore, be it

14        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
15    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn  the  tragic
16    passing  of  Charles  Lard  and  so many people and offer our
17    sincerest condolences to their families, friends,  and  loved
18    ones; and be it further

19        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
20    presented to the family of Charles Lard as an  expression  of
21    our  sympathy  for  their loss and with the sincere hope that
22    such a tragedy will never occur again.
