SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alicia Mary Scandiff, who passed away on August 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Alicia Scandiff was born in Chicago to John and Kathleen Smith on December 12, 1923; and

WHEREAS, Alicia Scandiff retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company in the 1960s; she also worked as a realtor for Coldwell Banker, and was the first parish secretary at St. Dismas Catholic Church of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Alicia Scandiff was a member of the Red Hat Society; and

WHEREAS, Alicia Scandiff was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Albert Scandiff; her son, George R. Scandiff; and her sister, Eileen Remington; and

WHEREAS, Alicia Scandiff is survived by her children, Sherry (Joe) Manning, Gary (Barbara) Scandiff, John Scandiff, and Charles (Vicky) Scandiff; her sister, Karen (David) Harms; her 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Alicia Mary Scandiff, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alicia Scandiff as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
