SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joel C. Earnest of Moline, who passed
4away on June 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joel Earnest was born in Hamilton, Alabama to
6Howard and Vera Lee Knight Earnest on October 14, 1943; he
7served in the United States Army and married Marianne Bader in
8Georgia on August 21, 1964; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joel Earnest retired in 1995 from John Deere in
10Moline after 32 years; he also worked for the Bettendorf school
11system; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joel Earnest attended Jesus Lighthouse Church; he
13was a member of the United Auto Workers and the National Rifle
14Association; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Joel Earnest was preceded in death by his
16daughter, Linda Earnest; his son, Jimmy Earnest; his parents;
17and his younger brother; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joel Earnest is survived by his wife, Marianne
19Earnest; his son, Joel C. Earnest Jr.; and his granddaughters,
20Robyn Earnest and Emily Earnest; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Joel C. Earnest, and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Joel Earnest as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
