SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert T. "Bob" Grogan of Darien and Phelps, Wisconsin, formerly of Hinsdale, who passed away on December 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He attended Hinsdale schools and graduated with the Class of 1957, Northwestern Military Academy in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, He was past President and a member of the Big Sand Lake Club and a former member of the Edgewood Valley Country Club and Eastward Ho! Country Club; and

WHEREAS, He was the owner and operator of a service station for two decades; he was an avid golfer, fisherman, and entrepreneur; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grogan was the beloved husband of Anne, nee Reynolds; the loving father of Robert Jr. (Elizabeth) and Dawn (John III) Kenny; the adoring grandfather of Colby, Anastasia, Maeve, Robert III, Evelyn, and John IV; the dear brother of the late Elizabeth (Spencer) VanAlsburg and William (Dorothy) Grogan; and the cherished son of the late Willard and Marguerite Grogan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert Grogan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Grogan as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
