| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy A. Messer of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on April 10, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer was born to Alfred and Jennie Allen | 6 | | on March 4, 1932; she married Glen Messer in Pascagoula, | 7 | | Mississippi on March 7, 1953; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer served as a Deacon at Faith | 9 | | Presbyterian Church in McHenry; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer was an active member of the | 11 | | American Legion Auxiliary Post 491, where she served as | 12 | | president; she also volunteered for the American Red Cross; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer was preceded in death by her | 14 | | parents; her siblings, Charles and Olga; and her | 15 | | daughter-in-law, Marilyn; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Messer is survived by her husband of 65 | 17 | | years, Glen; her children, Douglas Messer, David Messer, and | 18 | | Nancy Piper; her grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Adam, Janean, | 19 | | Carol-Ann, Kathleen, Lauren, and Alissa; her 12 | 20 | | great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Arlene and Robert; |
