| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rosella C. "Rosie" Duffy of Pontiac, who | 4 | | passed away on March 4, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was born in Pontiac to Matthew L. and | 6 | | Rebecca E. (Mowry) Nolan on July 28, 1927; she graduated from | 7 | | Pontiac Township High School and the University School of | 8 | | Beauty in Bloomington; she married James Francis Duffy at St. | 9 | | Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac on June 22, 1957; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was a part-time beautician and worked | 11 | | on the farm her entire life with her husband by her side; she | 12 | | was recognized for her contribution to the Illinois Farm Bureau | 13 | | Ag in the Classroom Fundraiser; she was a member of the | 14 | | Livingston County Farm Bureau, where she served on the board | 15 | | for over 30 years; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 17 | | Church in Pontiac, IL, a member of the St. Mary's Women's | 18 | | Guild, and a longtime participant of St. Mary's Catholic Church | 19 | | Perpetual Adoration; she was a member of the American Legion | 20 | | Auxiliary; in 2007, she was honored with the Livingston County | 21 | | Volunteer of the Year Award; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy was preceded in death by her parents; | 2 | | her brothers, Leo, Francis, Mattie, and Jim Nolan; and her | 3 | | sisters, Mary Mies and Margaret Somers; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Rosie Duffy is survived by her husband, James; her | 5 | | children, Joseph F. (Janet) and Steven G. (Joan) Duffy; her | 6 | | sister, Rita Nolan Tibbs; and her grandchildren, Jessica (Rob) | 7 | | King, Janelle Duffy, Katherine Duffy, and Kevin Duffy; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Rosella C. "Rosie" Duffy, and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
