| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James Lawrence "Jim" Mateja of | 4 | | Lindenhurst, who passed away on January 30, 2017 at the age of | 5 | | 71; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, James Mateja married Susan L. Jeschke in Grayslake | 7 | | on August 14, 1965; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, James Mateja was the founder and past President of | 9 | | the Midwest Automotive Media Association; he wrote two books in | 10 | | which he was the sole author, and one which he co-authored; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Mateja was a longtime parishioner of St. | 12 | | Patrick Catholic Church in Wadsworth; he had a deep love for | 13 | | his family; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, James Mateja was preceded in death by his parents, | 15 | | Frank and Mary (Mesec) Mateja; his son-in-law, Christopher | 16 | | Winiewicz; and his grandchildren, Peyton Mateja, and Haylie | 17 | | Winiewicz; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, James Mateja is survived by his wife of 51 years, | 19 | | Susan "The Bottle Blonde"; his "#1 Son", Brad (Lori) Mateja; | 20 | | his twin daughters, "Twin #1" Gina Winiewicz, and "Twin #2" |
