1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois are pleased to honor citizens who have
4 made significant civic and professional contributions to the
5 State; and
6 WHEREAS, David M. Dorgan began his employment with the
7 Village of Tinley Park on September 16, 1991, as the
8 Assistant Village Manager and was appointed to the position
9 of Village Manager on July 1, 1997; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Dorgan and his wife, Gudrun and sons, Niels
11 and Daniel, have called Tinley Park their home for the past
12 twelve years; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Dorgan left his position as Village Manager
14 of the Village of Tinley Park on March 7, 2003; and
15 WHEREAS, Mr. Dorgan's leadership, initiative,
16 professionalism, and experience as a public administrator
17 have enabled the Village to develop into a professionally
18 managed community that serves as a model to other
19 communities; and
20 WHEREAS, During his tenure, the Village has experienced a
21 population growth from 36,679 to over 52,000 residents; a
22 total of 21,860 residential/commercial/industrial permits
23 have been issued, which include 3.5 million square feet of
24 industrial/commercial development such as the World Music
25 Theatre and the Tinley Park Convention Center; and
26 WHEREAS, Mr. Dorgan has contributed to making the Village
27 of Tinley Park a dynamic and better community in which to
28 live and work, and has provided for its health, safety, and
29 welfare; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we hereby extend our sincerest wishes for good health and
3 happiness to David M. Dorgan in his new venture as the City
4 Manager of Elgin and we commend him for his dedication and
5 service to the Village of Tinley Park; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to David M. Dorgan and to Village President Edward
8 Zabrocki along with our best wishes for continued success,
9 both for the Village of Tinley Park and for Mr. Dorgan.
