| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard D. "Rick" McCaherty of | 4 | | Carlinville, who passed away on November 6, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rick McCaherty was born in Carlinville on April | 6 | | 23, 1948 to John L. "Tink" and Ruth E. (Smith) McCaherty; he | 7 | | graduated from Northwestern High School in 1966 and served in | 8 | | the United States Air Force; he married Jill S. Leach at | 9 | | Blooming Grove Christian Church in rural Palmyra on November | 10 | | 25, 1989; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Rick McCaherty started his career at the McDonnell | 12 | | Aircraft Corporation in St. Louis; he then worked for Schien's | 13 | | Body and Equipment and Plaza Truck Service, both in | 14 | | Carlinville; he later worked for HandH Construction and then | 15 | | started his own business, McCaherty Construction; he prided | 16 | | himself on being a finish carpenter and credited a lot of those | 17 | | skills to working with Ron Paul; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Rick McCaherty enjoyed spending time at Taylor's | 19 | | Chili and the Anchor; he also enjoyed country and western | 20 | | music; some of his happiest times were spent in Nashville and | 21 | | listening to George Jones; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Rick McCaherty was preceded in death by his | 2 | | father; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Rick McCaherty is survived by his wife, Jill; his | 4 | | daughter, Kelli (Cody) Stewart; his son, Sean McCaherty; his | 5 | | daughter, Karli McCaherty; his mother, Ruth E. McCaherty; his | 6 | | grandson, Kasen Stewart; his sister, Sandra (Darrol) | 7 | | Mansfield; his brother, Clyde (Cher) McCaherty; his sister, | 8 | | Jeanne McCaherty; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, | 9 | | be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Richard D. "Rick" McCaherty and extend our sincere condolences | 13 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 14 | | it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Rick McCaherty as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy.
