SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

60 ILCS 1/100-30 new

Amends the Township Code. Provides that on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act, a person elected to any township position, including, but not limited to, a trustee, a supervisor, a highway commissioner, a clerk, an assessor, or a collector, shall not be employed by the township in any other capacity other than his or her elected position.

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section 100-30 as follows:

(60 ILCS 1/100-30 new)

Sec. 100-30. Elected officials as employees. On and after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly, a person elected to any township position, including, but not limited to, a trustee, a supervisor, a highway commissioner, a clerk, an assessor, or a collector, shall not be employed by the township in any other capacity other than his or her elected position.
