AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1932

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1932 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 10-20.55 and 34-18.48 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/10-20.55 new)

Sec. 10-20.55. School building construction; consultation.

(a) A school board must consult with law enforcement and security experts in the design and planning stages of the construction of any new school building or any additions to or major remodeling of an existing school building.

(b) This Section applies only to buildings that students physically occupy. This Section does not apply to out-buildings, maintenance buildings that are not affixed to existing school buildings, or concession stands. This Section applies only to construction, additions, or remodeling that meets the requirements of Section 10-20.21 of this Code.

This Section applies only to construction, additions, or remodeling that meets the requirements of Section 34-21.3 of this Code.".
