AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1403

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1403 on page 3,
3line 20, after the period, by inserting "If the requested
4reduction in assessed valuation is greater than 25%, however,
5the taxpayer shall pay at least 75% of the tax due. The
6taxpayer shall notify all taxing districts, as shown on the
7current tax bill, of the amount of tax paid."; and
 
8on page 4, line 20, after "requested.", by inserting "If the
9requested reduction in assessed valuation is greater than 25%,
10however, the taxpayer shall pay at least 75% of the tax due.
11Any taxpayer electing to make a partial payment of the tax due
12shall first have notified all taxing districts, as shown on the
13last available tax bill, of the taxpayer's intention to file a
14tax objection complaint. That notification shall be made (i)
15within 30 days after the written notice of the decision of the
16board of review in counties with less than 3,000,000
17inhabitants, or (ii) within 30 days after the board of review

1notice or within 30 days after the date the board of review
2transmits to the county assessor, pursuant to Section 16-125,
3its final action on the township in which the property is
4located, whichever is later, in counties with 3,000,000 or more
5inhabitants.".
