SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
40 ILCS 5/1-103.1  from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 1-103.1

    Amends the General Provisions Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that a Public Act that amends the Code and takes effect after January 1, 2013 must be limited to one of the following: (i) amendments to a single Article of the Code, (ii) amendments affecting a single pension fund, retirement system, entity, or plan established under the Code, or (iii) revisory matters. Any amendment to the Code that violates this requirement is null and void.

1    AN ACT concerning public employee pensions.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing
5Section 1-103.1 as follows:
 
6    (40 ILCS 5/1-103.1)  (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 1-103.1)
7    Sec. 1-103.1. Enactment and application Application of
8amendments.
9    (a) A Public Act that amends this Code and takes effect
10after January 1, 2013 must be limited to one of the following:
11(i) amendments to a single Article of this Code, (ii)
12amendments affecting a single pension fund, retirement system,
13entity, or plan established under this Code, or (iii) revisory
14matters. Any amendment to this Code that violates this
15requirement is null and void.
16    (b) Amendments to this Code which have been or may be
17enacted shall be applicable only to persons who, on or after
18the effective date thereof, are in service as an employee under
19the retirement system or pension fund covered by the Article
20which is amended, unless the amendatory Act specifies
21otherwise.
